Got new tires, 225/60/17 vs stock on my 08 outback. Everything fits well except the pass side strut. The tire hits the strut tower. I ordered a new strut in hopes the new one would clear like the drivers side. If it dont, then somthing is wrong with the suspension or lower control armsl on that side.

I attached pictures.

That's really weird how the tyre-spring perch gap varies so much side-side! Almost looks like there's a Legacy strut on the passenger's side! Does the passenger's side look lower than the other?

Measure perch to hub center on both sides. Then bottom of spring perch to top strut bolt, see if the numbers match each side. Then top of wheel arch to hub center each side and compare the numbers.

Double check the part numbers or right.

Definitely wrong struts
or hubs maybe?

Well i ordered a new strut for the passenger side, i hope that fixes it, i cant drive it with out tearing up the tires. I dont have the tools to remove and compress the spring while im away from home.

Figured it out guys... The strut was the wrong one... I went to napa got a new one and it works just find.. plenty of room like on the drivers side. I think the PO put a junk yard strut on there or pulled it from a used parts place because the base was short compared to the left side.

Good luck with the new tires!
