Ok,

So I've got the lift kit pulled from my Gen 4 Liberty and thought i'd get prepared with some trailing arm spacers for the SH while I was there.

Problem,
SH has a different trailing arm setup to the SG

Here's an 08/09 STi rear end, which is the same as the SH

As you can see the trailing arms are bolted directly to the subframe, and not into the chassis,
So, where to now....

Space the entire subframe down? Not an ideal solution though.

You could also use adjustable trailing arms, but the longer arc will stuff the wheel further back into the arch under compression - Nachaluva had this problem.

Would it be possible to fabricate a different sort of spacer? Maybe an extended bracket? The SH suspension is completely different to the SG, you're right about that! Dad used to have a 2007 3rd gen Imp.

Yeah I don;t like the idea of dropping the whole subframe,
tailshaft angles, etc will be thrown off, exhaust clearance..?

I guess with only a 1" lift planned It shouldn't be that bad.
I'm hoping to squeeze in the 215/70/16 BFG's, so I might just fit the lift to the rear and see how it sits, take some measurements before ordering the tyres.
i guess at worst I might have to bend over the seams at the front of the wheel well.

Did you end up following through with a lift? If so, how's it going/ what size tires did you decide to go with?

Yep, lift is in
Running the 215/70/16 BFG's

I'm yet to have the alignment done to see any adverse effects on rear camber, but as I suspected, the angles of all the bushes at rest are all twisted a little, and a sllightly longer trailing arm would correct the geometry

Awesome! I've ordered the 2" Anderson Design & Fab spacer lift kit with the rear sub-frame spacers and it is going to be installed next week :) I've been looking at the 225/70/16 BFG's and I've seen a few people that have put on the 225's of different tires but at the same time I'm a bit wary as to how close everything will be to rubbing. Planning on trying one on to see how it all fits before I commit to a whole set just to be sure

the 215's have plenty of clearance around the struts and everything, so 225 wouldn't be an issue in that regard, I'm using +48 wheels

Had my 2" lift installed and ordered a set of 5 225/70/16 BFG KO's. They're clearing them out of stock as they have the new KO2's so I managed to get them at 179$AUD each ;) Thinking i may need to do a little trimming just to give everything a little more space but we'll see
