ive looked through this site and sf.org and couldnt find anything definitive so i thought i would ask you all your opinion. I have a 2000 sf with fresh sg struts all around and a 2 inch lift. is this too much lift for the front? Has anybody been running this set up and had any problems. i remember reading that eurojosh had 3 inches of lift on his front and it messed up the tranny and im not sure how much lift the sg struts gave me.

i also have no subframe spacers.

Shouldn't be a problem. I've been running more lift than that on my SF for years; to date I've only had the CV boot above the cat go. I may have a CV on the way out now but it's been a long time coming.

I think that you will have some front CV issues.

2" strut lift is the max you can go on an SF. The "problem" is that you now have SG struts front and they have more droop on full extension than the SF struts (+15mm)…time will tell !

Another option is to put some Heri HD axles.

I don't know what messed EJ's transmission but I don't think it has anything to do with the lift, more of a 4EAT gearbox problem.

I run 3" strut lift front and 5" rear in my 2001 SF, no issues up frony. But a few issues in the rear. 4.5" in the rear was fine until I changed to SG rear shocks which are taller. Been like this for 100,000km and not major issues other than maintenance.

Taza or Kevin, are either of you running subframe spacers?

I have trailing arm spacers also, however I willbe putting in a 1" body lift to droo the whole drivetrain, suspension and motor 1" just to help with my rear CV's and allow some extra articulation.

taza do you have camber bolts top and bottom in the rear? also thanks everyone for their time and input.

You do need rear camber bolts. Having a mental blank as to which rear strut hole they go in, I think it is the top one.

I don't know how you manage 3" strut lift in front, the SF strut is 56,5 cm from bottom bolt to top hat and if you add 3" (7,7 cm), its a total of 64,2 cm. Well, on my '97 SF, without body lift, its not possible.

Do you have a 2" spacer kit and 1" spring ?

I already have camber bolts in the rear top, maybe I should try them in the bottom holes. I need a touch more neg camber.

How much of your 5 inch lift in the rear is strut taza?
