We have a '92 L-series with central locking - probably aftermarket. The locking is frozen on, meaning the only way in and out of the car is through the boot or windows.

I have tried replacing the door lock fuse and disconnecting/reconnecting the battery.

Any other ideas?

G'day & Welcome TF. (I can't help with this particular issue but I'm sure someone will soon)

What happens when you try to unlock the driver or passenger door with the key like normal?

The key won't turn on either lock. Nor will the interior switch budge from locked.

^ Sounds mechanical, perhaps?

And a warm :welcome: to the ORS forum, TF.

Maybe try disconnecting the module. I think its inside the drivers kick panel. If the key turns in the lock you'll know its a faulty module

If it is a '92 l-series with central locking, it will be after market, not factory. Only Touring wagons had c/l, and the last of them were 1990.

Have you been given the correct key?

If the doors cannot be unlocked from inside, have you tried a rear door? If these are jammed locked, then it sounds like the c/l system has power connected all the time, not just when locking/unlocking.

Beigewagon.

In which case, a flat battery would ensue qickly, and smoke even quicker. These lock solenoids/motors are only short-term rated,
