Roof Racks

The aero bars from our SH won't fit our SG, or vice versa.

I looked at this a while ago and realised the roof rail shape is different and I think are further apart on an Sg vs sf. If they would fit on, I wouldn't trust them with any load on them.
 
The rails are very similar, i think you'd be in with a chance. if the second gen is like the first gen oem ones they might have some length adjustment.
 
I don't think anyone's setup is as dodgy as one I've got. I have an old Prorack off a 1991 Maxima, which fits on the Foz if you put the feet on topof the rails and jam the ends of the hooks under the rails... I've never actually used this to carry anything as it's too unsafe. just tried it once to see if it would work...
 
^ That's the big problem - when there is any kind of load.

Who wants or needs to have even 20 Kgs deposited on one's bonnet in a prang (or worse, on/in the car in front ... ), let alone 60-70 Kgs ... :(.

Even moderately heavy braking or just normal cornering might be sufficient to cause a ill-fitting rails to fail.
