Well, Dedman, Beigewagon & I managed to make it out undamaged :monkeydance:

It was very wet & some tracks like Robertsons Ck Tr were very chewed up & not passable. Although I did get a fair way up one section till a big chewed out rut downhill from a boulder stopped me.

We toured around for a while looking for tracks then headed over to Phasmid Tr. It was more chewed out at the bottom as well, combined with the slippery clay was too much. We all had a few decent cracks at it but no luck.

Then up Phasmid Ridge Tr where we had to navigate around hundreds of fallen timber

I had a look up a steep clay track running off the main track. Had some fun till it just got too steep & all 4 muddies were spinning but not going anywhere. Brakes on then slid back down & off the track. I stopped & put heaps of leaf litter in front of the tyres & managed to get back on to turn around. It was interesting as a t one point sat 90 deg to the track lol. Heading back down was sideways most of the time but my GoPro went flat! :shake:

Lunch then more logs on Barklayana Tr:

Gentle Annie was next. We were pretty cautious but didnt seem too bad so I tested it out. Deep ruts, steep slippery clay & some obstacle evasion made it difficult but I made it up, much to the surprise of the 2 fourbies ahead of us. They explained that just before them a Patrol with 35s had to winch up! Go the Foz! :lildevil::monkeydance:

Beigewagon was next but the ruts were just too deep so we did some track building. First run packed down the dirt & next run made it up

Dedman was next on his roadies & slid the whole way up :rotfl:

We met a bunch of fourbies coming down who advised us to turn around up the top as we wouldnt make it out. We ignored them of course! :iconwink:

On the way out we passed by Sunset Tr, now closed but still used. This is seriously steep with a boulder garden and clay. Highly modded fourbies only with big lift, twin lockers, 35s min aired way down and no regard for their own vehicles.

Unfortunately they had no regard for the bush either, ringbarking trees as the winched without tree trunk protectors :(:yell::furious:

Its a******s like this that get large sections of parks closed down :eviltoyou:

We went out Western Firebreak Tr then decided to have some more fun & went back up it

We then decided we still weren't done and wanted to exit the park via Western Tr, the one we were warned about.

All was fine for a while then we hit the steep, section with car size ruts. Dedman made it through but Beigewagon bottomed out. We used the highlift jack to fill in the ruts & out he went. He was amused he had to power out despite being downhill :rotfl:

Glad you all had fun ....

Also happy to hear there was no damage sustained by anyone ....

Also glad that I wasn't there ... :poke: ...

It is disgusting the lack of respect for our natural environment that some exhibit.
Makes me ashamed to be a member of our species ... :puke: :puke:.

BTW, I fixed your link in the planned trip thread - it originally pointed to the second post in this one. I nearly missed all that wonderful stuff in your OP ... :) :lildevil:.

Cheers RB

Phasmid Tr was quite a bit worse than when you, Phizinza & I did it

The best part of the trip was the surprise on the Patrol driver's face when he saw I made it up :lildevil::monkeydance:

Those tracks look absolutely brutal - some great driving there Nacha.

Shame about those *******s who don't appreciate where they are.

Good fun had by all.

I have just finished with the high pressure wand at the car wash trying to remove most of the mud and clay. I reckon I removed kilos of stuff stuck to the sump guard, exhaust, wheel arches, rear diff, and front suspension. There is still more clay/mud caught between the sump and sump guard, that will need the sump guard removed first.

I think we all found our limits of traction and clearance several times.

Having to apply power to drive down hill is novel. Had drive though the ruts for about 150 metres.

Beigewagon.

Haha yeah my front yard is a little higher now lol :rotfl:

NachaLuva's tyres outperformed my front and rear LSDs but not by a considerable margin. There was no track NachaLuva made it up that I did not although I did have more trouble that's for sure, especially staying on the track..

All in all a great trip with just the right amount of fighting to stay on the track.

And here's Gentle Annie Tr:

Nice muddy trip !

@ Dedman, imagine you had NachaLuva's tires…! And how is the gearbox doing ?

This is the track we were told we couldn't do so we did it anyway. Big ruts, steep clay. Would be interesting to see Dedman trying to drive up it with his muddies on :poke:

The gearbox it going well although my rewound DCCD coil shorted to earth and burnt out so I had to pull it and rewind it. I am also a bit concerned that my trimmed crown wheel on the front diff might be slowly destroying itself as I found some metal sludge on the sump plug when I pulled it :(

Cool vids Dedman !

Not that cool about your gearbox…and some weird noise is heard on your first vids.

nice vids. Sure was slippery lol :monkeydance:

Are you sure the metal sludge is from the crown wheel? You might hear a noise from it if something is happening?

Cool vids Dedman !

Is that the noise that cuts out at about 17 seconds in the first video for a while. If so thats the pump for the low range oil feed. sometimes the tilt switch gets stuck so it stays running when going down hill and when it sucks air it spins a bit fast and makes a bit of noise.

Yes, thats the noise ! Ok then, nothing bad :iconwink:

Thought I might as well use this thread for last weekends Bunyip trip where I did Robertsons Creek Tr & Bullock Link Tr. Double black diamond & black diamond. We also did Gentle Annie (black diamond) but it was bone dry & an easy cruise with no loss of traction at all.

Full vid. Look for the huge wheel size boulder rolling down the hill towards me lol

Glad we pulled out of Robertson Creek Tk the other week. There is no way we would have had enough traction in the wet.

Looks like you had enough fun in the dry on those tracks, without the rain we had the other week.

Beigewagon.

Nice vids too NachaLuva, the long one is a must see ! And its all about wheel placement :iconwink:
