thoes a phase 1 tranny (pre 99) fits on a phase 2 engine?

thoes a phase 1 tranny fits in a fozzy where a phase 2 tranny originally was fitted?

Yes, but that's in a 5speed application. Six speed has a different length tail shaft as do some auto's. And some wrx and sti have a slightly different clutch fork and slave cylinder placement that doesn't match up with the lines on the foz from memory
