I have my 2" lift kit (ausubaru) ready to go in the garage, but have been strapped for time to get it in. (05 OBW)

Any problem with putting in the strut tops one weekend, driving it for a week and then putting in the rest of the blocks and steering coupler? I realize the alignment will probably be off until its all done and realigned, but I could live with that for a week or so?

What else should I be concerned about?

Thanks,
Bill

I dont think you can do that unless you are prepared to buy a new set of tires. The alighnment may not be a little off, it may be a lot off.

There may be some added stress on the driveline.

If this is like my kit (strut spacers, frame spacers etc) be ready for a few surprises. Blu was a 97 Outback auto, but i think this will still apply:

Shift linkage (Blu was an auto) the cable mount at the transmission had to be modified.
Some bolts may not give in to being removed easily.
Fuel lines and vacume lines under the hood need to be extended.
Depending upon your intake, The under hood plumbing is going to sit funny. I got fid of a cross support for the airbox as it was in the way.
The dogbone engine mount was a nasty surprise to me. That had to be cut and and be extended.
Untie electrical cables that may be stressed by dropping the engine (raisng the body). No splicing needed, but watch them carefully.

I had to get 4 camber bolts to bring the car back into spec.

Good Luck

Thanks Nipper

I heard back from the kit's maker and the only thing preventing this staggered approach is the redesign of the rear suspension. I'll just have to wait a couple of weeks until I have the time to do it all at once.

As far as surprises go, I'm not expecting much as mine was the second kit made by Dave at Ausubaru and he worked out the kinks on the first one that is featured on their website. Should be pretty straightforward. :) (fingers crossed)
