Hi all! Twinkles, O.R.F and I are going to do a trip down to Black point/Jasper area on the 24th to 26th of October. Basically driving down after work on the Friday and coming back Sunday evening.

The idea is to visit Black point and then probably go up the beach or coastal track till we end up at Lake Jasper. But we pretty much play it by ear unless we can form up a plan beforehand.

Anybody is welcome to come along. October should see us have some nicer warmer weather!

And no yeagerup because I'll just roll the Jackaroo and ruin the trip

I will be camping down south with the family from the 24th to the 31st. Would be cool to cross paths, will post our itinerary once finalised.

Below are some directions to get from Black Point to Lake Jasper ... open it if you dare! Personally I haven't read it as I don't like knowing where I'm going.

I'll come on this trip if I can, just see how I go. And I WILL be doing Yeagarup dunes even if it's by myself.

Cheers for the link, however we aren't sticking to any set plan except that we are going to black point to start off.
From there we head east and eventually there should be a track to the lake. I hear its either going to be good going or its going to be soft but nothing that worries me! Just bring the Maxtrax incase :)

Be good for you to come along, its a nice area.

That's the attitude, much more exciting if you don't know the way.

I love it down there, super soft, wide scratch free paths, great scenery, powerful swells and heaps to explore. I will try to come, but I'll confirm whether or not I can make it about a week before you go.

Yeah, im not one to plan trips to the "T" so to speak.
Twinkles has told me he doesnt want to drive along the beach from black point so guess we have to use the off beach track.

No worries anyway Red!

It's mostly cliffs with limited beach access near Black Point, the long stretches of beaches are near Yeagarup. And they're a bit sketchy even by my over confident standards.

No worries, have quickly looked on google maps satellite view and youre right. Theres a coastal track that appears to make its way east, then theres a Y intersection where one goes towards the beach then to lake Jasper and then other way goes straight to the lake.
Not too sure which way to go!

We should have time for both if we're there for 3 days. One of those tracks then leads onto Snotty gobble and then from there another track will be a back way into Yeagarup dunes. If I don't do that while you guys are there, I'll stay an extra night and do it Monday.

But there seem to be heaps of tracks to keep us occupied.

Twinkles has bailed out due to work, i have to go up to Perth so this trip will be postponed until further notice!

However Red, if youre going to do the dunes and B.P towards the end of Oct/start of Nov let me know :)

Good to know, I really would of been pushing it to make this trip.

I'll definitely be doing a trip down there, Probably around end of November. We can discuss exact dates later on. My last exam will be on Tuesday 18th of November. Then I'm pretty much on holiday after that so I can be flexible from then on.
Tom's last exam will also be around then, so we'll see if we can drag him down there as-well.

Beaut, sounds good mate! Weather should be pretty schmicko by then too.

I'm keen for 2nd half of November. EJ or not, Scooby can be there :D
Make a New Year's trip and I'll have to set a deadline for the EJ...motivation? :poke:
Weather should be pretty schmicko by then too.
Yeah it'd be good to get away without getting rained on and hopefully without overheating either!

Emphasis on the question mark.

Your always welcome to ride shot gun in Red, although late November the sand may still be a little compact after Winter and you might get Scooby through. But once we're into Summer you'll definitely need the EJ.

I'd be happy to do a late November trip and a New Years trip.

Wasn't it about this time last year we went to Yeagerup and i had my L series? 10psi in the tyres and it went fine haha except for the overheating. But either way, dont procrastinate Tom!

We went up in March. Actually, you have a good point, yours did do well, and if anything the sand should be more compact in November then March. But Tom's L series always seams to struggle in sand more than yours did. Not sure if his has less power, or if it's all the extra stuff he has in the back. (Including my fishing stuff which you still haven't returned after the mud trip!)
