Ok, so i just bought a 94 legacy with 05 fxt struts. I have been browsing the boards all over and cannot find an answer to my question. I currently am riding on stock legacy springs but just order the sjr 1.5 lift. now from what i understand those struts adds 1in, so with the additional 1.5in lift will i need to worry about my cvs? do i need a body lift then as well? i really hope not, im aiming for a simple lift to get some at tires under there so i can handle my rough daily commute. Any input is greatly appreciated

G'Day & Welcome

No, you won't need to worry about your CVs. However, as the lift does not increase the distance between the hub and the spring perch your tire size is limited by the spring perch.

So is the sjr 1.5in strut lift only, or strut and body?

strut lift only. so if my math is correct its about 2.5in total over stock. and m replacing both front cvs any how since 2 boots were bad and theyre in pretty bad shape bad just wanted to make sure i wouldnt be doing it again any time soon.

p.s
thanks guys cannot wait to get this car ready for adventuring

Put new cv boots on the rear as well. When i had 3" of lift in they started leaking before i had done 60miles

Dont listen to these Forester guys. My car is the same model as yours, 2" body and strut lift but an extra 1"in the shocks. That 1" difference reduces my front cv life to about 18 months. The 3 rib outer cv boots tear after about 6 months, the 5 rib ones last much longer. 2.5" is going to be hell on your cv, not to mention camber. Get a 2" or atleast 1" body lift kit.

Where can I find one of these body lift kits? Also what car has the 5 rib cvs? So I can find a set

Hey guys so i need more advice. I just got the SJR lift plates in and while installing the front i had to stop because it is way to much strain on the cv. I need to know where or how to peice together a body lift. from what i understand i can take parts of a late 90's model outback to make it work? is this true? Help me out guys we are already getting snow in Colorado and i need to be ready

thanks

Yeah the same model as yours in the outback will have a 1" body lift kit. To be honest I doubt it's going to be enough, you really need a 2" kit. Can't help you with getting one in the US, Nachaluva on here makes then in Australia.

What size tyres are you looking to put on your car? You should be able to get a 215/65R16 on there as it sits now.
