Are you ever go to 225/75R16 on sf forester ?

My Hankook dynapro M/T RT03 215/75R15 havent 45000km, and they are very used...

Y would like go to cooper discovers S/T maxx, but the most little size is 225/75R16.... https://www.allopneus.com/Profil-6925-PNEU-discoverer-s-t-maxx.html

If y go to 225/75R16, I'm going to wrx brakes, an replace my 2L 125cv to 2,5L or H6 EG33 3,3L : Biggrin:

225/75R16 are too big ?

Y want make it with ET30 offset wheels https://www.centralepneus.fr/jantes-alu/dezent/re-dark/6x16-5x100-et30-60.1-53757

205/75/r15 with stock rear suspension will only just fit (I've firestone discovery A/T's of that size), With SG rear struts maybe, Taza has had bigger tyres and i believe with sg rear struts.

225/75/r15 won't fit with SF rear struts

I have just put on my SG some 215/70/16s BFGoodrich AT KOs. These only just fit but they do slightly scrub out at about 1/3 lock. bit of extra lift will help that though. Any bigger though and, on the SG without any additional lift at least, they will be too big.

The other thing I will point out is that Coopers are getting an increasingly poor reputation in the circles that I spoke to. Now, I am well aware that people have different preferences and experiences with tyres but the overwhelming trend was 'avoid coopers at all costs' with people noting particular complaints being entire lugs coming out at speed, high frequency of blowouts and general poor quality.

I am sure there are plenty of people who have had great experiences with them too, I can just report what I found :)

Will fiot with mega offset rims and wheels spacers but I wouldn't recommend a size that big on a subaru. 215/70r16 or 225/75r15 max on any subie 1997 and newer. Tyres that size kill performance, economyy and gearing. I ran 215/70r16 with 4" lift. I then went back to 225/70r15 (now worn out) and will go to 215/75r15 (28") next. These seem to fit well without running amd don't affect the drivability of the vehicle too much.

As Doug and IDW said; clearance of the strut tower is an issue. Even with sg rear shocks I could just fit 225/75r15 or 225/70r16. However if you get rocks or mud caught in the tyres then it just damages the strut as there isn't enough room between the tread and strut seat.

With 215/70r16 I have about 15mm give or take which is enough.

I did manage to run 225/70r15 with stock sf struts in the rear but it ****ed the tread on the inside as it was constantly running the strut till it wore the tread down ao it wasnt touching (1000km)

Ok... clearance of the strut tower is THE problem I think...

My 215/75R15 M/T RT03 are good under strut tower

At the beginning I wished to replace the latter by 215 / 75R16, but I do not find tires which suit me in this dimension(size)...

Or maybe 225 / 70R16!
