My another car is getting old....thinking replacing it.

Anyone here has got both, or have ever owned both?

Overall, what do you preferred?

Thanks for any feedback.

i own an MY06 Forester. two other family members have outbacks of varying years and types which i have driven a lot. still a big fan of the Forester myself - handling is probably not quite as good, however size to power ratio all good, simplicity in the X-series is great. still plenty of boot space and just overall i think they look heaps sexier! ;)

If you plan on taking it off road at all, the better approach/departure angles of the Forester sells it for me.:)

I've owned both. The OB is a lovely, comfortable car and for cruisin' it would be my preference. However, for offroad, the Foz is better with it's shorter nose and tail.

Agree with Kevin. I could do 6-8 hours straight of back-road driving through the Goldfields in my'01 Outback quite comfortably (wee-stops excluded). Not quite sure I could achieve the same in my '03 Forester. Out of the box on-road handling in the Outback was a bit better than the Forester, but since I put better tyres and heavy-duty springs on the rear of the Forester, it's road manners are probably better than the Outback's were.

Outback also has much better seating position for rear-seat adults.

Outback better for young families because...

You don't need to put the front passenger seat fully forward to fit a baby capsule in the back, and there is still room for other stuff in the rear with a folded pram.
