Yesterday I installed a new clutch in the car.

Now the car will crank over but will not start :/ quite puzzling, epecially since the box was out only 3 weeks ago to install the new DCCD gearbox.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Sorry to hear of your problem, Will.

Immobiliser problem?

Perhaps reset the ECU?

How did you install the DCCD wiring? Did you cut the ECU wires or strip the insulation & wrap the wire around? Solder or crimp?

The other possibilty is you may have knocked a connector off when doing the clutch. Yours is an auto to manual conversion so there may be something there you knocked, eg, something to tell the ECU the car is in neutral. An auto will turn over but not start when in gear.

I'd be looking at something wiring...a loose connection somewhere

Yep something might be unplugged. What did you splice the dccd into?
If your park/neutral switch wiring has be touched that could be the culprit. If it thinks it's in gear it won't start.
Start looking at everything you tpucjed.

Battery in immobilizer? Tried spare key? Any lights on the dash while cranking?

Will have a more thorough look but the neutral connection is soldered and heatshrink covered. Dccd comes off acc power so a long way from the ecu.

Spare key might be the go actually for a try. No unusual lights.

Fixed it today :D Was a camshaft position sensor... Pity Subaru wanted $340 for one I couldn't believe it.

Ended up getting one from Logicar on rooks rd Nunnawading for $140. Exact same item!

If anyone needs any sensors or EFI parts I would go there over Subaru.

Gidday Will

Glad it was a simple fix, mate. The flaming sensors in modern motors seem to cost as much as as an entire engine used to in my youth .... And that's EACH ... :poke: :(.
