I'd seen this car a couple times before but never had a chance to talk to the guy or look close. I saw him and chased him down today.

It started as a 99 Legacy GT. It has Outback struts/springs all around. The front has a 12" spacer on top, the rear 10" on top and about an inch of lift at the strut base. 2" wheel spacers all around. Body lift blocks are 7.5". He says he's had to replace 1 axle in the 3 years since he lifted it.

that last photo has me intrigued.. whats the red-rusty tubing?
first though was exhaust, then i saw it ends at a diff ?? or is that just heat shielding?

That's exhaust.

The tires he has are 31x9.5/15 Super Swampers, but he says they measure closer to 32.

I forgot to mention, it's a manual but he said he swapped in a JDM tranny with 4.44. Too bad it doesn't have low range, that would've been a worthy swap.

Like a farking boss! Now that's a real Subaru.
So who in WA is keen to do that to their car?
I reckon we could beat ir with 15" blocks and 33" muddies :P

I like the bar work. I want that on mine.
You mean the bumpers? He said they were Jeep bumpers that he hacked up.

Also, he put the EVAP stuff in between the unibody and the rear subframe - that's how he hacked off that part.

Id love a set up like this on my ob. With 4.44 diffs and foz low range. Would go nice with the turbo power :lildevil:

With turbo, 4.44s, low range, and almost 32" tires I'd expect your axles to be not long for this world

Time to go divorced transfer case! Then the fun begins!

I don't know how this would go offroad without at least the L series low range - but they seem to do it and love it!

Cheers

Bennie
