Hey guys I'm picking up my 2009 R+ spec Impreza Hatchback up today and was wondering if anyone had advice on an inspection before I take it?

Private sale or dealer?

Either way, you should have arranged the inspection before you paid for it ... and certainly before delivery.

When you are inexperienced at this sort of thing, the RAA of WA is probably the best place to start.

If the purchase is from a dealer, then there will be a Statutory warranty dependent on the price paid for the car.

BTW, congrats on the new wheels ... :).

Private, I've done a thorough inspection already, just wanted too ask and see if anyone had some advice about inspections.

Thanks ratbag :-D

Google any common problems, Being an r spec of course check if anything has been flogged out. Go over the rwc and double check everything has been done, and that what's done has been put back correctly.

When i was taking blinky from the dealer they had replaced the pedal rubbers, i got to the dealers gate and the pedal box fell off. Almost sailed right onto the maroondah hwy. Was to ocupied with checking all the common faults on the foz and not double checking the work that was done.

Thanks guys, I'm on my way to pick her up now, I'm going to get tom to post some pictures later tonight

I've got pics, just waiting for tom to give me his email so he can upload them, unfortunately I only have the car for a week before my girlfriend claims her "little racecar" off me. :-(

Hey Twinklz

You can upload the pics to your album/s here at ORS if you want to .

I only have a phone, so it makes things a little frustrating

Take it for a drive and listen for noises, check service history, check for oil/ milkyness in the radiator. Check electrics. And look for oil leaks.

I know what you mean, but it is actually much faster to upload photos from my phone (25-50 Mbps) than it is using my Ultimate Cable service (2.5 Mbps .... ). Oh well :(.

It's actually more thirsty than the bunky old Twinkmobile

Well if you're driving it like I suspect you will be, then yes it probably will slurp quite a bit.
:rotfl:

Drive it like a granny and they're supposedly about 6.5L/100

Keeping the foz for me, this is my girlfriends car.

I don't think giving a WRX to someone who's entire driving experience consists of a 1.6 Litre, FWD, 1990 Ford Capri that runs on three cylinders is a good idea.
