I will be travelling to Scotland and Italy and I am looking for advice on mobile phone cards for data and phone use. I am expecting most places will have wifi so I can access email and ORS of course! So I expect data use to be minimal.
Cheers

We went to the USA last year and used a Go-Sim card in our own iPhone & Samsung Galaxy SII GT-i9000 with no problems whatsoever.

Go-Sim will have the sim card on your doorstep within 2 days and you can activate it the day before you leave to make sure it works fine and leave your Aussie sim card in a safe place at home.

We bought Leisure Pack and used the free wi-fi in the Hotels for all our emails - Skype etc., we never bothered with data as the Hotels all had pretty good limits for what we wanted, Scotland & Italy may well be different as I have never been to either.

Anyway you are on holidays not on the Internet.

Hi havachat

In Scotland, you will find most of the mobile network providers will have a shop on the high street of big towns and cities. You can easily get a SIM card and just buy credit for it, loads of deals available, just explain what you need.

See Vodafone link for an idea of what you can get:

For Italy, not sure, but would probably just get a local SIM card.

When are you off on your travels?

Hi Barnboy,
Thank you for the advice. The wife is heading over mid June to travel around the Highlands before heading to the Island of Harris and Lewis to stay with her family.
I am heading over mid July to meet up with the wifes family before heading off to the highlands and then off to Italy.
I set some parameters for the trip which include definately not staying with family
