Has anyone experience with plasti dipping the wheels?

I bought a set of vw golf IV gti 5 spoke alloys for only 70 euro's. They are looking quite rough with damages of roadsalt. I have sanded them and need to paint them.

I am in doubt of conventional painting them or to plasti dip. I've heard that plasti dip is soft and will damage quickly. What are your thoughts?

i've painted and plasti dipped wheels...i like plasti dip better as it's much easier to repair/touch up and personally i like the look of it better. also, needs practically no preparation, just a cleaned surface.

i'm actually plasti-dipping my entire car this spring.

I used it and i love plasti dip.

I plan on painting the trim black plastidip on my forester

I tried a test patch on my roof with a rattle can, and one with a spray gun and compressor. The spray gun patch didn't come off with my pressure washer but feathered on the edges, the rattle can patch came off. I gave both test patches 3 days at 40degrees to cure.

I'm planning on painting my roof in plasti-dip when i get around to fixing some damage on the front of the roof from the deco de-lamination.

on a side note, how much is plasti dip in north america, dam stuffs $30 a can here, and $50 a small tin

Damn, IDW, a rattle can at Home Depot in Florida is like $7. You can order a whole gallon for a spray gun for $50-$60 online.

I plasti dipped my wheels a few months back now and I can tell you that it's much easier to work with and it is nearly the same strenght as normal paint. I highly recommend it!

plasty dip

here is the whole car plastidipped guys, holds up well with minor repairs.
dirt gets in it easy, otherwise i like it.
