opinions on recovery gear

They look good but I'd suggest you message them to find out what material its from. It needs to be something that can cop some abuse, like the plastic in milk crates!

I'd reccommend a very strong plastic for you, My maxtrax are worn out from when you did a burnout on them.

I'd wait until Supercheap or Rays outdoors have a sale and grab a pair of Maxtrax. Mine haven't failed yet. Love em!
In saying that I haven't tried any of the copy cat products so could be worth a shot.

If the price of Maxtrax turns you off I would give these Tread a go from https://www.meanmother.com.au/

Look to be a solid product as well.

The 2nd gen maxtrax are so much nicer to use as a shovel and store so well I wouldn't consider anything else.

Except maybe cut up milkcrates.

I've got TREDs, work a treat on little Subys and big Patrols alike.
Got a bit of wear but that's mostly from excessive wheelspin, e.g. dropping the clutch to get out of sand.
All things considered, they're pretty tough
