Since I never had an owners manual for my forester and i do most of the servicing myself, I'm always looking for the service intervals for items like the fuel filter/fluids/belts/spark plugs etc.

Stumbled on this site:

https://www.cars101.com/subaru/subaru_maintenance.html

It has most of the service items and the recommended intervals for replacement!

Would be great if someone could check a couple of these against the actual owners manual's, but most of the items/intervals seem pretty standard for most cars.

:monkeydance:

Here you go, from my '97 manual:

Interval 1: 6mths or 12,500kms
Interval 2: 12mths or 25,000kms
Interval 3: 24mths or 50,000kms
Interval 4: 48mths or 100,000kms
Interval 5: Dealer recommended...whatever that means lol

This is US so has the US timing belt (cambelt) interval: 105mths or 168,000kms. Even when the AUDM MY06 got the longer interval, it was only 60mths or 125,000kms. This, remember, is for the SAME engine with the SAME part number! Plus the part here is twice the cost!!! We get screwed here :shake::yell::furious:

Edit: the above is for 2000-'09, the second table (1990-'99) has the same t-belt interval as the early AUDM Foresters: 60mths or 96,000kms

Interesting to note they have an extra 3mth, 4800km service, but apart from that pretty much the same. We have every 12,500kms or 6mths, they have 12,000km or 7.5mths.

Most things seem the same, except for t-belt, fuel filter, gearbox oil/ATF, diff oil fr & rr
