Went for a 3 night trip out to Abercrombie River NP between Christmas and New Year.
It clearly hasn't rained out there for a long time, everything is very dry and needless to say my forester returned very dusty.
We basically followed the '25 Treks...' book and entered from the eastern side and drove via Brass Walls track to The Beach where we set up camp. All the tracks are in pretty good nick though, with only one hill proving to get a bit bumpy (but still no problems). We didn't tackle Bald Hill though as we mainly just stayed on the western side once we set up camp.
The 'river' was more a series of small lakes and certainly no flow on the surface.
Exited the park on the western side, which was certainly much quicker then headed back home via the 'Gibraltar Rock' and 'Six Foot' treks out of the aforementioned book. We tackled the 'hard' track (am writing this without the book so forget the track names) but due to the lack of rain it was absolutely fine. What a contrast it was though to Abercrombie! So much greenery. I can definitely see how it would be tough in the wet!
Six Foot track is also a cracking drive, back to the dusty and typical Aussie bush scenery but great fun to drive along.
