my only concern i can think of is that diffs get extreamly hot and if the guard got caked up with mud,silt or any crap it might act as insulation for heat. maybe a couple of extra holes underneath to help drainage or even cleaning\hosing to get rid of build up. but then again i dont know if heat is a problem for the rear diff??? just a thought
I ran a temp gauge in the 9" diff of my Falcon. After many k's of constant, very high speed touring, diff temps were not high. BUt a good cleaning would be prudent after playing in the mud or dirt.
