So I had the factory 15mm RSB from my gen 1 legacy laying around after swapping an 18MM gen 1 OB sway bar into the legacy and the other day I did some head scratching whild looking under my wife's 03 OBS.

It turns out the rear sway bar from a gen 2 legacy/liberty/gen 1 OB is a straight swap onto a 2003 OBS (2000-2007 Impreza platform)! :monkeydance:

SOOO, on the cheap you can go from the factory 13mm RSB to a gen 1 OB 18mm RSB! Keep the end links and mounting bushings with the bigger bar and the mod is two 14mm wrenches and a 12mm socket away

So does that mean it will also fit a SF Foz, also an Impreza platform? Would love to upgrade my RSB...

I'd hesitantly say yes (since people put WRX RSBs into foresters et. al.)
If you can get your hands on a mate's OB RSB, hold it up to your foz...
or just cough up the $20 from a wrecking yard for a test fit and be happily surprised! :poke:

The 96-99 OB rear sway bar (here in the U.S.) is 18mm, check your foz's bad and verify the improvement you' get.

Thats a good info, and if you only change the rear, you will get a less understeering Foz which is so much better on twisty roads

Copy that.

When I swapped the stock 15mm from my legacy for an 18mm out of an outback it was instantly noticable and WAAAYY better to drive! the understeer was horrible but now mild oversteer and the car goes where I want it too rather than fighting the plowing effect of understeer. MUCH more predictable in gravel, wet dirt/gravel and snow!!

I mirror jf1sf5, that a beefier RSB provides instantly better handling and is a quick, cheap effective, practical mod!

Also the rear is easier to disconnect to regain wheel travel that would be lost with a stiffer sway bar

Taza's got a good write-up and details about making a quick disconnect for the RSB too! Maybe he can share the link here :lildevil:

Sure is! Make sure you carry spares with you in case you loose a part in the mud out on the tracks....
