Not sure if i have posted this before but a refresh is always OK.
I do my best to buy Aussie made/grown products and it always annoys me when i see 'made from local and imported ingredients' on the side of a product. I prefer Kraft peanut butter and it is labeled as above so i extracted the digit and have gone back to making my own.
It is REALLY simple and i reckon tastes better than store stuff PLUS i know where my ingredients come from!!
Woolworths have Australian peanuts in a 750gm bag ...i buy the roasted salted ones.
So.....just grab your food processor ( a blender will do the job but i have food the food processor to be easier to do bigger quantities)...tip in half the peanuts and start on a lower speed and add a bit of Australian Extra Virgin Olive Oil and keep adding peanuts and oil until you get the texture you want. It will be a bit more lumping than normal smooth Peanut butter that is OK with me.
Anyway...that's it!! Done.:ebiggrin:
I only use Aussie Olive oil and buy Cobram Estate in the 3ltr tin and refill my smaller bottle. Coles have this for about $20. The Red Island one is pretty good also.
I add only about 1/2 teaspoon of extra salt to the mix and NO sugar.
I made some yesterday but added a bit too much oil so it is a bit sloppy but still fine. If you are not keen on Olive oil (i love it!!) maybe try some other style.
I have, sometimes, added a good dose of honey (Australian of course!) to the mix. You wood need to do this earlier to get the texture right.
REALLY EASY>>>REALLY GOOD>>>ALL AUSTRALIAN...:monkeydance::ebiggrin:

Spot on! Home made is THE best! You don't have to use peanuts - try it with almonds instead, or whatever nut you like.

As mentioned. You can do this with ANY nut...macadamias,brazils,almonds, walnuts...i also used to add sesame and flax seeds to the mix.
