Everyone uses their own workshops/shed's in slightly different ways, and on top of that tools for different use's entirley somethings. I thought it would be good to see what people use for alot of jobs and how? It doesnt have to be car related

I've been doing alot of cabinet making lately and by far my favourite tools has to be my bandsaw, I've made a few jigs for doing all sorts of work from mitre cuts to dove tail joints and some resawing. It's to the point now i dont even use my mirte saw unless its huge.

other than that my "breaker bar" is an old bent torque wrench (the needle type) with a 50cm pipe on it.

+1 to stilson for winning the thread in 1 post . I dont actauly have a fridge in the shed anymore, i should find one.

The floor. Yes really!

Every time I have to do anything by way of mountng or dismounting tools on the tractor - and that's pretty much all the time, especially once the grass starts to grow - it's difficult, fiddly, frustrating, and needs far too much physical strength. Unless I do it in the shed where, amongst other good things, there is a large area of level concrete floor. The difference between mounting the slasher on a level surface (5 minutes, no tools, no fuss) and mounting it on an uneven surface (10-25 minutes, curses, sweat, mash hammer, bruises, temper tantrums, words I'm not supposed to say out loud) is huge.

The difference between mounting the 60 inch underdeck finishing mower on a level surface (10-25 minutes, curses, sweat, mash hammer, bruises, temper tantrums, words I'm not supposed to say out loud) and mounting it on an uneven surface (completely farnarkling impossible even if you spend all bloody day on it) is huger!

I love my floor. :)

Nice one Stilson! Your fridge really is the best

Well a few of us changed a Brumby CV ontop of a sandune when it snapped
My Snap_On pliers are my best tool. With them and a pair of cutters I can usually fix most things :iconwink:

The fan, it's been so *&^% hot.
Other than that, filing cabinets, they are what get the most comments from friends that come into my workshop too. I've got a few of the lateral type to hold tons of stuff neatly and away from the dust etc.

Like Stilson, a fridge is a must and a concrete floor is hard to beat. My stuff is kinda spread out, my tool room has a wood floor and when I can commander some room from work, I use the concrete warehouse floor for wrenching.
How 'bout some pics of everybodies workshop?:poke:

Unfortunately I don't have a workshop at home :sadbanana: or a garage for that matter :sadbanana::sadbanana:
However, I do have a shed  it's just not big enough to fit my Forry in though :poke:

I do like the idea of the fridge  & yes, every workshop must at least have that :bananatoast:

Regards
Mr Turbo

The favourite part of my workshop are the huge benches.

The least favourite are the windows that let rain onto the benches, the pools of water on the floor that happen whenever it rains & the asbestos roof!
