I recently put new front feroda Thermo quite pads on the front but not on the back as they supplied wrong ones and still running old pads. Was driving out to a property the other day when the ABS light come on and stayed on after I slowed down for a corner on the dirt. Ive chequed wiring I can see all seems right. I was wondering if having the unmatched pads and new and old pads could be making it play up or if I have a more severe problem. Still brakes ok but does lock up when I tested to see if they would.

I know it's probably a stupid question, but when you checked the wiring, did you also check both fuses ?
That is, the one under the dash (behind the coin box) & under the bonnet ?

Yes I did first thing I checked. Ill recheck wiring again and put the old pads back in. Put I have a bad feeling it might be the controller unit. The thing I find weird is I have obd2 Bluetooth and a android pad running Torque but doesn't show any codes.

Wasn't really meaning about running 2 different types of pads was more the fact one set of brand new and set nearly buggerd. They seem to be finding it hard to find the rear pads as the pads that are on the books for the MY06 xt arnt the same as what are on my car. I would Just take it to a suby mechanic but the closest is 700km away. Ill just go over everything with a fine tooth comb.

rechecked all sensors and fusses cant find anything wrong. No codes only thing I can think is control unit had buggerd up. Still brakes well just locks up like older cars. Will get it looked at when I get over to somewhere I can find a decent mechanic.

Fingers crossed found the problem. Had a really good search through my workshop manual on my pc. Found resistance readings the sensors should have. One sensor has no resistance so ill order it and hop for the best

That sounds like it...lets hope so. Its been a tricky one for you! Make sure you let us know how it goes

well got another sensor put it in and yay the light went out when I took it for a spin back to working as normal took it out on dirt road and slamed brakes on to test and pulled up without skidding
