Hi all,

I finally got around to sitting down and putting together a video of the off road journeys I've had with my Outback. It took a while to do because there were so many hours of footage I had captured, but it was well worth it.

There's some good bits in there, a few bumps and scrapes and also some laughs.

Very good fun making that video. And some truely great experiences have been had. Check it out and let me know what you think :-)

Awesome vid Shiv :raz:

I watched the entire vid & it was fantastic. Well worth watching

The long water crossing is a beauty

For some reason, it looks familiar to me :) Was that at Lidsdale ??

Glad you enjoyed it :)

You've got a good memory - Lidsdale it is. Actually it was some older pics of your car from a few years ago with the Subie Club that inspired me to go down there, funnily enough!

Very much enjoyed your video Shiv. No mods to Scooby2, but you give a great idea of what and where you can go by viewing from all the different angles. The precise reason I have been so wrapped to find this forum and learn. Lots of new stuff. Thank you :-)

Good to hear you've picked up a few things from it.

As you would have seen, the front and rear bar's on an Outback can be quite intrusive to off roading. You get use to it, and learn to live with it.

I thought it might've been :iconwink:

It was that particular water crossing that convinced me that it was time to get & do my snorkel mod

Very well done Sir!!!:bananatoast:

Love the Go-Pro "drop off" shot, how long till you realized it fell off???

That tunnel is awesome, and the "parting shot".

When I realised it had fallen off, we had done a few river crossings so I assumed the worst! Ended up finding smack bang in the middle of the road not too far back, which was a massive relief.

That tunnel is really amazing. No matter how many times I've driven through there, its still incredible. Its accessible via 2WD road but I just had to include that footage in the video.

Glad you were able to find it :raz:
Was there any or much damage to it ?

I too have been through that particular tunnel on a few occasions
And yes it is absolutely amazing :raz:

Nup, no damage to it. Comes in a hardy protective case. Also has a scratch resistant fish eye lens. Very durable camera :)

18:35 might want to strengthen the bottom of the rear bumper.
Yup you've got a good eye. I think it occurs at least 2 other times in this video...

When it first happened about 18-months ago, I said to myself that I would wait until it totally fell off or tore in half before replacing it. It just keeps on holding on, so I'll see how long I can keep it going.

Is it actually cracked at all i don't think you need another bar it will probably do the same thing?

Yeh its torn on both sides. It catches on things when going over rocks, rivers etc.

You're right, another bar will most probably do the same thing. Wouldn't mind a SubaXtreme rear bar but they're very pricey and quite frankly, I don't mind bashing the current bar a bit when going off road as you don't really see the damage unless you get under it.

Nice video....you guys certainly have a wealth of scenic drives down there...Do you ever run with sway bars disconnected ? Or would that put the axles in danger of binding ?

G'day twowings & :welcome: to ORS.

Yes there are a fair few of us that disconnect our sway bars when we venture off the black stuff & hit the dirt

I personally don't, but as I said, there's a lot of us that do :iconwink:
