Since replaced the struts/ shocks I have been thinking it was time to replace the springs. My OB has 143,000 on it and the springs seem good but hard to overall tell, and thinking King springs.
My overall use is street and some mountain roads but more on the street and still want a comfortable ride and keep same ride height.
My ?
What changed when you went with new springs vs stock?
What did you notice overall?

I don't see why you would want to replace your springs. If they haven't sagged the rates will not have changed from new. Is there a reason you would want an increased spring rate from kings ie load carrying?

My OB has 143,000 on it so assuming it is time for the springs to be replaced or maybe with oem springs or at the 143,000 these would be ok. How can you tell if they have sagged, the car seems to be overall at a level height.

The springs should be ok. If you dont see sagging and have good struts you should be good. I would look into other things about now like ball joints and tie rod ends if you want to get ahead,

I have been considering changing out most of the suspension parts for newer, would like to find aluminum control arms and bushings. I have noticed when doing a lot of work in past months the bushings on the control arm seem stretched a bit and environmental damage.

One of my control arm bushes has been leaking oil for almost 2yrs now, still seems fine. No noises etc.

You can check whether the springs have sagged by measuring from the centre of the wheel up to the wheel arch lip. You could find out from a dealer what the height is meant to be or perhaps someone here will know. Take into account how fiull your petrol tank is plus gear in the car.

You could go standard Kings which will improve the handling without changing the height. There may be a marginal increase in ride firmness but it shouldnt be a prob
