Hey guys I want to add a switch to my radiator fans, Off,Auto, and always On.

01 H6 outback. Has anyone else done this? What switch do you use? Guessing it would be a switch with 3 terminals and a common. Or are relays needed?

Will.

Personally I'd have a relay.

I have a fan cut off switch on my Forry (MY05) It is a 2 way only though.
IE Auto or off.

I must admit that I did have an auto electrician do mine though.

I know this refers to an L Series, but it may be of some help though.

There's a wiring diagram on page 3, post #22 of this thread Fan Cut Out Switch

Another mod I havent got around to doing! I'll also be adding a buzzer/warning light to the fan off position to remind me the fans are off so I dont cook the engine!:shake:

To do this use a 3way on/on/on switch. Pos 1 wired through the ECU, pos 2 direct to a relay so always on & pos 3 to the buzzer/light (fans off). This will also prevent the CEL coming on in the "fan off" position as reported in various posts where the ECU detects no resistance (voltage??).
