Instagram?

I personally don't have an instagram account. I'm ok with people using it to share photos with friends and family. What I dislike however, is the way people use it to add filters and whatnot to their photos to make them look better and then tout their capabilities as a photographer or artist. I am jaded though because I am a bit of a purist when it comes to photography. No "filtered" photo can even come close in quality and beauty to a well composed and framed photo taken with the appropriate settings.

Hey tom, Very few of us know what the appropriate settings look like though! If you look at my IG page, Smugmug or my Photobucket pages you'll see that I'm not a big user of the effects either. But photography is kinda subjective, so to each his own.
As an example, I really like this image but would like to see Bluefoxs' original of this one too. On a better day, the edited version is what I see anyway.

What I find odd about IG is the type of pic that gets 100s of likes compared to one that gets 15.
