partly a question for other GoPro users - I'm using a Hero2, on a suction cup mount on the windshield. This clip has had some contrast adjustment, but otherwise just snipped from the longer video. The road is somewhat rough and up hill through the drainage, bad sun angles too. Is this about the best I'll get as far as shakiness using the gopro suction mount ? I did try YouTube stabilization on a copy, that one is much smoother but loses some picture quality. The original also has the "feel" of being on a rough road :p while the stabilized version doesn't.

I know it's not terribly interesting, a little excitement at about 3:10 ...

Great vid dxd
I too really enjoyed the bit at the 3.10min mark too

I am no Gopro user myself, but I'd be willing to bet that the suction cup mount is largely responsible for the shakiness. Side note, I had no idea that Arizona has free roam Ostrichs! Or rather Ostrichi?

I didn't think it is that bad
Stabilizer software dose loose picture quality i use power Director it has a good stabilizer feature again you loose a bit of quality tho

The stabilized videos looks fine and the quality didn't seem to suffer to bad. I haven't used the suction cup very much until this past weekend, but haven't had time to check it out yet, I'll be happy if it's as good as yours.:iconwink: I noticed that if the mount configuration is changed, the vibrating can be affected greatly.
Interesting? Hell yea it is, it's an area that I'll never get to ride through, thanks for posting.

Free roaming Ostrich ? No, those are wild turkeys. They aren't too common, but I've actually seen maybe 20 in the last few years which has been surprising.

This video was the original, if you click on the user name at YouTube it'll bring up the stabilized one, called "copy..."

Re: the wild turkeys, I don't know if they'd qualify as massive ? the toms are up to 4ft tall, 24 pounds. Big enough and rare enough to be very cool when you see them.

Embed vs Hyperlink

All,

Could someone share the steps to embed your video in the post as opposed to using a hyperlink that takes to another website? Thanks!

You've convinced me I need a couple GoPro's now. Awesome video!

PC or Mac?

Copy and paste a URL, into the link bar, like this
"https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vasc8ghyu1g"
(without the quotes)

Copy the url from the address bar on YT.
From the reply window on ORS, click the earth/link button.
Delete the "HttP//"
Paste the url.

testing this, because Mr T had to fix it for me on the first post.

edit... edit ... Yay, now it works. Haven't quite figured out how to create a good timelapse video yet, though.

Couldn't help but think of this thread the other day. Ya' need some more wild turkeys??? We've got plenty around here. Funny thing, this flock of turkeys at my in-laws condo complex seem quite a bit bigger than the 'country' turkeys we have out near my house, easier food source I guess. Apologies for the hijack, carry on...:)

I've seen 100s of wild turkeys in the last 20 years, but Carl those are freakin' huge, just as the ones seen in the video must be! Wow!
4ft tall toms? Yea that's massive.

Not only were they huge, but that is only a small sample of the 20 or so birds in that flock. I tried to get them all together for a group shot, but they weren't listening.:raspberry:
