Hey

just lifted my forester via top struts, I have taken a couple of pics of my CVs and wanted to get some experienced lifters opinions whether they are too aggressive and will fail immediately

all pics are front CVs

I guess it depends on whether its your daily driver or a bush basher. How much was your lift? The prob with the front is theres more downward angle than the back PLUS forward angle as well. Most people on here seem to find a 2" lift doesnt affect CV reliability, but anything more than that may do.

Personally I believe 2" is the max RELIABLE lift for the front & 3"-4" for the back :iconwink:

I went 3" all round
I know that will be worse for cvs than 2" but if it's the difference between having to replace cvs say 10000kms earlier than 2" I'm cool with that

That brumby belongs to brumbyrunner over at ausubaru, he races it at fink and a few other AORC events.

If your not violent with it on the Tarmac then you probably won't have an issue, but you could always to a 1" subframe spacer to level it back out.

Is that possible on an SG?
Any guides, pics or links to someone who has done it to a sg?

max angle for cv's

I talked to a driveline/ cv shop . They say the Subaru CV are good for 22*,23* degrees above that you will have issues..

Use a cheap angle gage to check them. I have one with a mag. on it so it works perfect...
