Does anyone know where i could find factory style blueprints/ diagrams of the 98-01 subaru forester?

i have been waiting too long and i am going to have someone build me a 2-3in body lift, but i want to be able to email them a general idea of what it is going to entail.

i have been able to find just bluepints of the body, but i need ones of the frame mounts.

thank you for any help!

Especially now our dollar is stronger than yours!

I have seen them somewhere online. I'll try and find them. I am looking at putting a body lift in my Forester now as wit 4" strut lift only it is taking it's toll on the CV's and a heap of the bushes. It was alright for 40,000km(26,000miles) but now with the car about to hit 200,000km anyday it's feeling very worn, plus I'm positive I have a broken engine and gearbox mount :(

Its not that high tech a thing to do. All you are doing is essentially a body lift. Anyplace the subframe attaches to the body is where the blocks go, then spacers for the strut tops.

You have to extend (replace) the fuel lines and evap lines under the hood to get slack back in them.

Yeah It doesn't seem too hard to do. I have noticed that people seem to do them in a very "cheap" or weak way. I would like to have it be quite strong and not sacrifice by just stuffing a simple steel tubing in there.

I will be purchasing strut inserts and having custom strut housings built and using a 3in spring so that I can run taller tires without worrying about those darn subaru spring perches;)

^ I like your thinking there! When I do my full body lift kit I will be using solid aluminum blocks. Much stronger than steel tube and can not flex like tube either. Costs more but will be well worth it :)

The weakest spot may surprise you. It is not any of the obvious places. The engine cradle/sub frame bolts behind the front wheels are the weak points. You need to have plenty of support and contact with the unibody and subframe there. This spot is is actually better to use a solid block of metal, as anything hollow flexes and pulls out the threaded hole that receives those bolts.

Wish you lived in the US. Seems like we want to build our foresters the same! Haha

^ Yeah Garret, I think we have some similar good ideas. Maybe one day I'll move :iconwink:
I wouldn't bring my foz with me but I would bring over some dual range boxes and subaxtreme gear

I have the mounting instructions for the scorpion lift kit. that might help.

Will dig them out and scan over the weekend.

3 blue Foresters, maybe the easiest ones to lift !
