Hey guys, I've got an 05 forester xs 5 speed and it seems to be having some sort of throttle issue. Upon shifting, the throttle sticks a bit, just enough so that the revs hang long enough to make each shift annoyingly slow. Or if I were just give it full throttle then shift, the rpms actually increase with my foot completely off the gas. any suggestions?

Does your model have the electronic throttle?

My MY06 2006 DR 5MT has this, but not sure if it wasn't introduced in my year.

If a "real" throttle cable, look for kinks, loose clamps etc, specially the pedal return spring and smoothness of the pedal pivot. Make sure that the cable is adjusted properly (neither too loose, nor too tight).

This is just general mechanical advice. There may be a "sticking" sensor somewhere in the system that needs to be dealt with.

yeah mines got drive-by-wire as well....it seems from what ive read, this was engineered into the car..but damn it's annoying. makes it all but impossible to shift quickly
