Do you have any classic bank stories to tell?

I just had a good one. Had a prob paying through PayPal for an eBay item, PayPal said to speak to my bank. My bank transferred me to the internet banking department where (after explaining the prob for the umpteenth time) I was told I had to be transferred again as
"It is banking on the internet, but its not 'internet banking' "

Dont ya love banks :puke: Good thing I have a sense of humour lol

Deposited $120 birthday/Christmas/pocket money into my commonwealth "Dolarmite" account when I was 10.

Tried to pull it out to buy an r/c car a few months later and the account was empty and they said there was never any deposit made and pretty much told me to suck it.

Folks, after a mere three years (that's THREE years ... ) of an account being dormant (no transactions), our beloved federal government effectively confiscates the balance.

Apparently, it is theoretically possible to get your money back, but you have to convince a public servant that the money is rightfully yours, and that our beloved federal government should give it back to you ...
Good luck ...

The answer is to put 10 cents into the account in year one; take 10 cents out in year two; deposit 10 cents in year three ...

This makes the cost to the bank as large as possible (their penance for collaborating with the government in attempting to steal your money by law), while thwarting the attempts of the government to steal your money.

IMFAO, the residual beneficiary of any money in any account in your name is rightly and properly the executor of your estate ... No matter what the time interval!

Stilson, that really sucks for a 10yo...I'd be onto the ombudsman! Guess he'd say its a bit late though

Yeah, pretty ****ty.

My dad gave me the cash back but he shouldn't have had to.

Early lesson in life to keep excellent records of all transactions.
