Hello everyone! I have a 09 Foz that is totally stock. I would like to get a taller tire with more bite without having to seriously modify my vehicle. I have stock 225/55/17s. I also have a set of Impreza 16" wheels that I would really rather use so I can have a set of street and back country tires. I'm just looking for a little bit of extra ride height. thanks!!

Hey mate, throw on some 215/70R16 or 215/65R15 all terrain tyres on and you'll be set :iconwink: The General Grabbers, BFG's or Geolander AT-S are all good tyres, check up in our other threads on members reviews of different tyres

Since you have a set of 16's (wheels) I'd be going with one of the ones taza said.
This thread should be use full too What tyres are you running on?

Also, may I suggest, seeing that your Forry is totally stock, getting yourself a sump guard / bash plate aswell :iconwink:

Regards
Mr Turbo

+1 for the sump guard, it should be your 1st mod. Consider it cheap insurance to make it home :iconwink:

IMO Your best bet would be to go 215/70R16 but you'd need to be careful running impreza wheels as they have a different offset +55 which will put the tyre/rim closer to your struts, the forester runs a +48 offset..

Mines pretty zippy as long as I keep the revs above 2500.

Maybe after you save some (lots) $$$ you can get 4.44 diffs. Long term thats def what I wanna do...plus a locking centre with L series LR :lildevil:

Basically Venom's running gear in my Foz :monkeydance:

Na I don't want 4.44's. It'd be doing around 4000rpm at 110km/hr. Remember it is still my daily driver ;)
I know the EJ25 will be heaps of power, I may not even need to go L-Series low range then as it should have plenty of torque and my low range is pretty good as it is. The big test will be towing my boat along the beach!!
Na a locking centre isn't needed, I personally think if your going to go to those lengths in a Subaru, sell it and buy a real 4WD with lockers, winches and all the work done.

If you have an SH foz 225/70r16 go straight on no mods.

They will fit on a SH9, But you will have slight rubbing on rear tire wheel-well when the suspension is un-weighted..

As youl see in this pic they isnt much clearance at all..

I thought the 4.44s would counteract the larger tyre diameter & even it out:shrug:
