Why not stack lift spacers?

I've read a few times in this forum not to stack top hat lift spacers, but nowhere can I find the reasoning behind this (beyond "it's not safe").

Why not stack a couple of spacers to get the right height that you want.
Torque it down and you should be good to go, no? :poke:

It depends what spacers you intend to stack. I'm sandwiching a 1" spacer between my tophat & lift block, so using high tensile 8.8 bolts going THROUGH the spacer, I cant see a problem. I wouldnt put it on top of the block as it would exaggerate the twisting effect of the lift block offset. Prob safe but this way is better.

Best would be a 3" lift block but no-one here makes em :(

I wouldnt stack 2 or more 1" spacers as you'd be better off with a proper 2" lift block with offset. Also, you'd be using longer bolts which adds to the stresses involved.
