This weather we are having is bad, we are expected to have a minimum temp of 27 degrees Celsius for the next 3 nights and what's worse is its cooler out of the pool:twisted:

(BTW, is Fraser I. regarded as FNQ?)

No; it's almost a suburb of Brisbane!

I don't envy those temps OO. How's the humidity going? It's been very humid down here lately.

Cool and crisp here especially at night - still need the doona. But that's Toowoomba for ya. Having lived for many years in Cairns and Townsville I know what you're going through. Winter is the only time I will visit friends there now.

I don't blame you, if it rains its nice though its just the lead up to it that's horrible. Usually if we get real hot humid disgusting weather it is followed by an awesome storm, lets just hope we don't miss out on the storm.

That really blows! I know how you feel though. Nights back home in Texas in the spring and summer don't usually get any cooler than what you guys are looking at. I finally had enough of it and decided to change my elevation to about 4500 feet higher! Now heading into our first winter here, they are calling for more snow over the next couple days, then it's off to the mountains on sunday to cut down our Christmas tree in the Roosevelt National Forest. God Bless cold weather!

I'll 2nd what Kevin said. A low of 27C over night is not good at all.
Having heat like that is never good, especially if its humid; as it's the humidity that makes it unbearable :madred:

Mr Turbo

It is the humidity, in central Queensland we use to get the mercury hitting 47 plus in the shade, but it was dry and you could still work. Here in Townsville it's humid all the time and anything over 30 degrees knocks the wind out of you all the time and when you get in the high 30's it's worse than 47 degrees in the dry heat.
I am considering moving south where it gets cold in the winter. I've lived in the tropics most of my life and I think I might have had enough of sweating every day of the year

OutbackOiler, you should trek down to where Silver is @ Tathra... you would just love it ;-)

A couple of years ago I went from 32C in Townsville to 44C in Melbourne in January (to spend a few days at the tennis) and Melbourne's dry heat was much easier to take. Weird traffic system in the city centre though. :iconwink:

^ NSW south coast; not far from Victoria. Near Bega. Beautiful area!

Sounds good, mind you I am so used to the heat I will probably get to where it is truly cold and then and freeze my arse off and whine about that :raz:

Townsville is the pits weather wise, the Sunshine Coast is the bee knees IMO, although it has it's moments as well.

Gidday OO

I wouldn't bet on that ... :iconwink:.

I grew up in SE Qld (Brisbane) and spent the first 25 years of my life there. I never acclimatised :(.

Moved to Adelaide, and never minded the heat - almost zero humidity. Hot as my just reward in summer and cold as when it freezes over in winter, specially at Mt Barker. Loved it (mostly).

In the early 1980s, I moved to Melbourne where we have more than four seasons in many days of the year. Can get really stinking hot (45°C+) occasionally, but rarely hot and humid. Maybe a few days a year, and even fewer nights. Never wear shorts to work, no matter what ....

I have never been as cold in either the Adelaide Hills or Melbourne as I was in Maroochydore (1987 winter - July) when it hit -4°C one night :poke:.

At my advanced age (65+), I am less tolerant of either heat or humidity, but it is the humidity that's the real killer for me.

Besides, I don't like those big lizards you get in the water up there ... :rotfl:.

The heat over here in WA has been pretty crap too lately. Today I had to ride my push bike from the Perth airport into the City for work.... Let me tell you that after that 3hour ride I was truely over the heat and humidity...

Was on the phone to Dad aswell who is working in upnorth WA (Port Headland) and he said the past 2 weeks has been 40+ degrees every day with 100% humidity and he's been working outside.... I now understand why the 60 yr old man is so grumpy.. :iconwink:
