I just stumbled on that. Looks awesome!

Spoil yourself! Make your car or truck stand out from the rest a functional modification that offers a ton of protecting at the same time. Treat yourself to the all new Gorilla Bar - a multi-functional bar that can mount up to 8 lights, a skid plate, tow hook, or winch mount. Made from 4130 Chro-moly Tubing (all around) 1.25" .083 wall and 1" .083 wall the bar is 100% Tig welded and comes standard with these features:
  • Oil pan and radiator protection
  • Core support / reinforcement
  • 8 Mounting locations to frame and sub-frame
  • 8 Light mounting positions
  • All hardware included
  • Skid plate tabs included
None for the Forester yet (I'm surprised? I would've though the Forester would've been the primary market for such product), but they say it's coming.

It's pretty awesome with the winch mount.

I seriously...

And at around 400$, it's reasonable for sure. I won't help with the approach angle -sadly. But it looks solid, adds a winch mount, lights and some protection... I'm sold!

The guy who produces these is awesome to deal with. I bought the mud flaps for my fozzie from him and they are so quality! The bar for the fozzie is in the testing/fitting stage. He has just recently become (I believe) a vendor on SF.org. I may have to direct him over here so he can introduce himself, this site would definitely be more of a fit for him. Even though SF.org is more high flow.

I would hope the forester version would not reduce ground clearance.

Time for the Aussies to envy the bars available to you Yanks!

@tomtom: Actually I was thinking of emailing him to invite him in over here, as well as see if there was any progress for SF Foresters!

@stilson: from what was posted on, if I remember correctly, the Baja, the additional bar that is bolted to the subframe doesn't stick out as much as the engine's headers does... so no it does not reduce clearance at all! It does however slighly reduce the approach angle, but (from what I can see) it's not significantly worse than any of the currently produced lightbar/nudgebar/etc.

I'm very interested so I visited the Gorilla Offroad site to check on availability for a 2013 Outback. It seems that this is a new startup putting out quality product. If there are any members in the Chicago area that can provide their vehicle for measurements Gorilla Bars would happen for more models.

"Thank you for contacting me and showing interest in our products. I'm glad to hear your in a Subaru and we hope to get our Gorilla Bar made for the latest models. To be honest, I don't know when that will be since it is all contingent upon finding a local owner interested in our products and one that that is willing to lend us the vehicle for the weekend. There are incentives for those folks but its just a matter to time before I find one. The biggest barrier is the vendor fees requires by sites like subaruoutback.org that are required in order to post a message related to this topic. Hopefully we'll be able to get something going in 2013.

Let me know if you know of anyone in the Chicagoland Area that is interested an we'll get them in the shop.
:-)

Talk to you soon.

PS: Sadly I'm not paid for doing them some PR so admins please don't hit me for it :poke:

Funny I just found this company a few days ago and I placed an order for their adjustable trailing arms:)

I was going to get an eBay set but I decided to spend the extra coin to ensure a good quality product and support a US made product

I can't wait to get them!

Do they offer a bigger winch then 4000lb?
I'm having an email exchange with him to break down the prices and help me budget and I linked him this thread - here's Derek's answer:
And yes - to the latest question asked - the UTV4000 is no longer being made. We recommend the Superwinch Terra 45 but any Superwinch model will mount if someone wanted to go up or down in rating.

The SR version with rope instead of wire looks good, still be nice to have a slightly higher load rating.

In theory they would, chassis doesn't change between countryside AFAIK?

Would be awesome idea, a one piece bolt on/off for adventures. Then in a few minutes the car is ready for city life again.
