Glad it all worked out Dulagarl, it must have felt strange not having your baby for so long;

Can I ask a few questions though? - I'm not so knowledgable on complex suspension systems so if you could explain a few things to me I'll be a whole lot more confident in doing my own lift in the next few weeks.

Firstly, you mentioned that the blocks didn't fit flush therefore causing metal fatigue and evetually breaking. Are you referring to trailing arm spacers or strut top spacers?

If you are talking about the former (trailing arm spacers), under what conditions would I need to install trailing arm spacers? ie: If I installed 40mm strut spacers would I need the trailing arm spacers too?

Are all lift kits the same? If I were to purchase my 40mm strut spacers from Ausubaru, Subtle Solutions, Paranoid Fabrications or Primitive is there likely to be any difference in flushness of fit?

Also, are the metal ones any better than the HDPE ones - and if so, can you stack HDPE spacers on top of metal ones (say 3/8"HDPE on top of metal 30mm ones)?

Once I understand all this I can make my spacer purchase.

Thanks.

1. the whole discussion was about the trailing arm spacers causing chassis rail damage. refer pics. Nothing to do with strut spacers.

2. Yes, i think they are necessary.

3. The problem doesn't relate to strut top spacers. I don't know about any differences between makes of them.

4. Don't know about HPDE at all.
