Thought I'd use the workshop to fix/finish some stuff on my car. Since my existing wiring was thrown in and very dodgy under the bonnet as you can see I decided to sort it out.
Since my apprenticeship as an Auto Sparky I have learnt 'the professional way' to do things  :iconwink:

What do you guys think?
There is a relay and 2 circuit breakers on the little bracket I put together.
One is a 30amp circuit breaker to replace the 30amp fuse for my spotties, I have replaced all the wiring with a thicker gauge, proper crimp terminals on and split ribbed conduct to cover the wiring.
I reckon the spotties are not 1.5x brighter too since doing it properly  I also think my stereo seems to go abit better too.
The circuit breaker on the left is for my stereo which I previously had a 50amp fuse, then not fuse for a little while with too thin wiring(some burnt out :0)
The blue paint type stuff is terminal protectant which stops corrosion.
So now no more fuses, the wiring is more tolerant of heat as it is covered and it looks very professional and neat :raspberry:

Looks very good, Taza.

Now just a quick clean of your battery tie downs and terminals, and a smear of vaseline to stop them corroding again, and you're laughing ... :iconwink:  :rotfl:.

Good on you, mate.

None of us was born knowing anything - we all had to learn it along the way :). Sometimes the hard way ... :(

Looks like your learning well.

Hope you're still enjoying it, and it pays off in the long run.

Thanks Guy's I'm happy with it. To be honest before I was embarrassed to show my engine bay to anyone, it was dirty an the wiring was a mess. Now it's clean'ish(enough to work on without getting black) and the wiring is neat so I'm very pleased

Stilson, I have covers to go over the circuit breaker terminals, that will solve any issue that could arise :iconwink:

Carl, yes I'm still loving it. Getting to do some more advanced work lately which is interesting. I hope it pays off too, 3year and 4 months to go. haha

Looks & sounds like you are really enjoying your new job taza :raz: together with learning heaps at the same time.

Nice job with the wiring too mate, it's top notch & very well done

Keep up the good work :bananatoast:

Regards
Mr Turbo

Looks good, certainly easier now to hunt down future problems. ;)

Only now do I see that it's 12 months later! :rotfl:

I used to just heat shrink over the ends/nuts.

Looking good

Looks good mate. What are those two units anyway?

Gotta love your placement of the screwdriver!

Cheers

I was looking at that too.

Screwdriver is always a handy thing to have under the bonnet but I didn't think that tucked under the cables across the top of the battery was the best place to carry it!

Got to say that the wiring does look good though Taz
