I've been really stressed of late, so I decided to take a few days off to relax.

There's a special place I know of in Kangaroo Valley. It's a pet friendly, 24 acre property, so thats where I headed. Along with Jerry, my ever so faithful puppy.
I decided to take the scenic route, via Waterfall & Bulli & it didn't disappoint.
We stopped off at Kiama to see the Light House & check out the Blow Hole, which was actually working (if you know what I mean) for a change

There's a fantastic lookout, not too far away, called Mt Pheasants Lookout, so we checked that out too :raz:

After admiring the fantastic views we headed off.

The final 30-40 mins drive to reach our destination was a beauty. Especially the last 15km's or so

It was like driving a roller coaster, while ascending & descending our way through the mountains. With all of it's extremely sharp, hairpin turns, I had to be careful not to hit any Lyre Birds

For some reason, they like to dart out in front of you from the bush on the side of the road

Once we reached the property & picked up the keys, it was time to check out the amazing views.
These views are what I would be waking up to over the next few days :raz:

Jerry thought he was king of the mountain upon finding & climbing this pile of wood chips :monkeydance:

That was until he found the large pond (pictured above) which he decided would be a great place for a swim.

Once Jerry finished his swim, we strolled the property & took a few pics :)

It didn't take long before we found the goats. Jerry was fascinated by them & didn't quite know what to make of them  but I'm sure he knew what to do with them

However, with the horns on this old boy, I think they were quite safe :iconwink:

Here's a couple more random pics of what I saw on the property

The sun was now starting to set so it was time to call it a day. But not before I snapped couple of pics of the last rays of sunlight reflecting off the mountains

And here's one of Jerry just chilling out & admiring the view ;)

The next morning I woke up to find a thick fog had descended on us overnight :)

However, I think the next morning out did the first, with this amazing sunrise :raz:

Together with a couple of Kangaroo's hopping by in the distance :newmulti: :newmulti:

So after a quick breakfast, it was time to check out some of the other amazing sights that Kangaroo Valley has to offer

But not before this little Echidna stolled on past :) Unfortunately, by the time I'd grabbed the camera, he had all but disappeared into the longer grass :o

So off we headed.
Here are a couple of pics of what the views were like from a couple of the lookouts in the area :raz:

Cambewarra Lookout

The 1st one, Cambewarra, which is also a Tea Room (refreshments & light meals etc) is for sale. Included is a 3 bedroom house :raz:

I don't know what the asking price is  but I'm guessing it wouldn't be cheap :rolleyessarcastic:

Finally, there is Hampden Bridge, the oldest suspension bridge in Australia.

The river that flows underneath was just magic, especially as the weather hot

Lets just say that many an hour was spent there admiring the extensive bird life & cooling off :discomonkey:

All in all, I (we) had a fantastic time

And I can't wait to visit this beautiful area again, which will hopefully be in the not too distant future :bananatoast:

Thanks Ratbag & yes it is such an amazing & beautiful area.

If you're into photography (which i know you are) you won't be disappointed.
The wildlife, especially the bird life, is just incredible.

I lost count of how many different species I saw. I got to 20 & then lost count.

Every morning I was woken up to the many different calls that were on offer.
With the main ones being Kookaburra's, Rosella's & Wattle Birds.

That, together with the frogs croaking, seeing the lizards basking in the sun, Kangaroos hopping by, Lyre Birds darting to & fro, together with the odd Echidna strolling on by I didn't want to come home.

But as they say, all good things must come to an end.

However, there's one thing I will say about Kangaroo Valley. I'll definatley be going back to visit the area again when I get a chance.

That's one happy looking dog!

I should check out Cambewarra Lookout, that looks pretty amazing. Thanks for posting!

You got that right Shiv, Jerry absolutely loved it :raz:
With all that open space to run & play on, matched with a decent sized pond to go swimming & cool off in, if it got too hot, he thought he was in paradise :bananapartyhat::discomonkey::quitar:
I can highly recommend paying Cambewarra Lookout a visit if you're in the area.
The panoramic views that span for around 145km's from a height of 678 metres are just breath taking to say the least :raz:

Great you got out and about a bit Mr. T.

And, what a great looking place to escape to.
A little R&R can go a long way.

What a great get-a-way!
Perfect weather, wildlife/great outdoors, photography and Jerry.....sounds like a stress killer to me!

Very nice ! You didn't do any off road though ? Well, we don't always have to !

No I didn't venture off the black stuff, well, not this time anyway.

However, next time when I venture down that way, I'll definitely be looking for & hitting some trails

Yes carljwnc you're so right about getting some well earned R&R. It does wonders all right :raz:

Gidday Mr T

I looked at your next couple of posts of images now they're up.
Lovely spot; nice piccies.
Glad you (and Jerry) enjoyed yourselves.

I could possibly be conned into meeting up somewhere further towards the border, like Bega or Tathra area at some stage. Or maybe inland?

Just now spotted this, great shots Mr T! Glad you were able to get away and enjoy a little R & R. I now see where the pic was taken of you & your two pups on that ridge looking over the coast line.. Looks beautiful although i'm sure it wasn't the same... :(

Thanks for sharing, the pictures are amazing..!

^^ Thanks dirtyRU.

Yes it did feel strangely different, but in a nice way if you know what I mean.
