Making a list here as an 'aide memoir':

  • TIRFOR hand winch, with single, double and triple pulley blocks and wire rope on spool. (This is BOUND to show up on e-bay!)
  • Ridge Ryder Snatch strap kit with tree protector. (What is the super cheap brand?)
  • 2xBushranger Roll-up sand tracks.
  • Projecta 'Typhoon' dual head compressor.
  • Sydchrome metric ring / open end & socket set.
    • Extras include:
      • universal joint,
      • 1/2" adaptor,
      • 2" extension
      • 'steering wheel socket' - for my beetle,
      • universal joint tool - for removing the bolts from VW 'Type 3' uni joints.
  • 2 x reclining folding chairs from Anaconda.
  • Everest 'fairydown' sleeping bag.
  • Kathmandu inflatable sleeping mat.
  • 100 Amp Hour AGM battery.
  • Solar Panel
  • 2 burner Stove
  • Trangia metho stove.
  • 'Flint kit'
  • 2 x camp ovens.
  • 2 x folding chairs
  • Large plastic storage boxes.
That will do for a start...

aww Barry, that's such a low thing for someone to do. I hope that your research uncovers something. A friend of ours also had his trailer complete with carpentry tools stolen here in Brisbane. Apparently there is a tracker that you can get to "stow" somewhere safe in vehicles/trailers... then... if they go walkabout you can track them by GPS. Hope you find it, Regards, Scooby2

Found the spanner set in the house last night.

Gotta "be grateful for small mercies", as my mum used to say.

I'll keep a look out for everything up my way. was your camper insured?

Thanks mate. Yes, insured with GIO. Spoke to them yesterday and they were very considerate. Just waiting for their paperwork to arrive.

Mr. Barry, you are saying that we need to keep a list somewhere of our possessions. El Pedorro and his aliases are on this task. Separate lists for the old Mercury beater, the Forrester, the office, the motor home and the workshop/storage shed. El Ranchero takes the shed, the Dryland Sailor does the office, El Pedorro does the vehicles, Chase Keester has needed to put the Derby trailer in order for some time.. The whole crew will hafta go thru all the cr@p in the motor home. Something to keep in the fireproof safe and on the web somewhere I suppose...

El Pedorro,
Love the reason for your edit mate!
Just as well that his Keester is attached I guess... :rotfl:

More seriously, there is the worry of 'lurkers' casing your gear on-line, then turning up to 'self serve'.
I have already determined that my new trailer won't reside at my place.

Barry, I'm sad to read this. In this day and age these things shouldn't happen.

What type of camper was it? And located in the burbs or out in the sticks?

All the best!

Bennie

Keeping a list of possessions somewhere

Really haven't done this in a while, and am getting more comfortable electronically. What if one e-mails ones-self a list and leaves it sitting "out in the cloud" under reasonable password protection? Maybe a few photo attachments as well?

I'm sure you hacks and nerds know just how to do this, but at least this could work for the clueless who would a least have a reference for what they might lose in a home invasion that cleans you out completely.

Oh, yah, Mr. Barry: I'm glad you appreciate my humor. I did forget Mr. Keester entirely on the first writing. Of course, he gets upset when they call him Mister Keester--He is convinced that he never misses.....
