that I've processed so far, anyway. I think the ones where it's upside down might be worse :censored:

Had a little accident yesterday. A driver pulling out from a parking lot at the side of the road, making a left turn to go the opposite direction that I was. Driver just "didn't see" me, started out into the road, front right corner of Toyota Tundra hit me, and we ended up on the roof. No serious injuries that we can tell right now, just bruises, sore, and a few glass cuts.

This sucks. And to top it off, I was going to be taking my Foz on a road-trip vacation on Tuesday.

I'm sorry to see & hear about your Forry dxd

Glad to hear that you weren't seriously injured though.

Regards
Mr Turbo

**** mate! What a bummer! At least your alright, that's the main thing as Mr T said :)
Will you be buying another Forester? Will insurance cover the accident?

Insurance company has decided that the other driver was at fault ( no, really ? ) so it's covered under their policy. Now I'm waiting for the Paint & Body Shop to come up with an estimate, at which time I guess the company will decide if it's total loss or no, and what it's worth.

I'll definitely consider another Forester, they've proved their safety rating. But I'll have to see what's out there.

I don't think there's any hope of this not being a write-off... I would think column damage is written off straight away as there's no guarantee what would happen in a roll-over after it...

Good luck with the insurance companies burocracy!

Geez mate

That sure looks nasty, and could very easily have been much nastier ...

The obvious structural damage to your car would make it almost impossible to repair IMO. All the panels and sub-structures along that side of the car have been destroyed.

Beats the hell out of the olden days when the car would have been repairable, but you would have been dead ...

Did the pyrotechnic seatbelts or airbags deploy?

Just thank your lucky stars that you were not hurt.

Sorry to hear this dxd. Hope you are all alright. One of the things that Subies truly do best is to protect their occupants. Cars are expendable, lives are not.

Very sorry to hear of this accident . but like all the others are saying the most important part is youre alive and well . good luck with the insurance company ..............maby they will give you a rental forester that you can take off roading . lol ive noticed rental cars with insurance sure seem to go more places than youre own car lol they even go over bigger rocks and deeper mud

Dang, sorry to see that! I'm glad you're alright, though!

The insurance company got me a rental so I decided to go ahead with my vacation plans. I'm currently in Sedona, in northern Arizona. They did allow me to get a comparable vehicle, a Toyota RAV4. It's a decent vehicle, but I miss my Foz.

I talked to the Paint & Body shop this evening, they didn't even bother with an "estimate" The boss said to just get pictures and do an inspection, and send it off to the insurance company. I didn't quite catch everything he said, bad cell connection, but he did mention panels, doors, rear axle... says we're very lucky. I should hear from Ins. co. in a few days.

I miss my Foz

Brought home a new family member today that the insurance paid for. 2013 2.5X 5 speed, sage green, alloys, black rails, etc I got a really nice discount off the MSRP of $23001 USD, to only $20,900 - about 730 under invoice. Now to get some flaps, tint, shop around for a skid plate...

:)

This is going to be another difficult color to photograph. It looks more grey and blue than green ?

Wow - just beautiful & I'm glad you got your new wheels in time for Christmas :) Being Subaruless is truly a difficult time once you've had one!

Congrats on the new wheels, mate  .

We paid more than that for SWMBO's MY10 2.5L XS auto second hand, with 63,000 kms on the clock.

A new XS manual is somewhere around $40K here!
Boy oh boy, do we ever get right royally ripped off for stuff in this country ...

Hers is also Sage Green. Looks blue/grey almost all the time ... :iconwink: .
Confuses the witnesses, I guess ... :lildevil:

Only just saw this thread...that was some serious damage in a very strong part of the car. Shows just how good Subies are at occupant protection, yours isnt the only proof I've seen of that on here. Very glad only minor injuries.

The new Foz looks awesome...enjoy

Congrats on your new ride dxd

I hope & I'm sure she'll give you many, many km's of driving pleasure

Regards
Mr Turbo
