Whilst exploring a new area around the mountain . I discovered many new campspots with breathtaking views. Mostly gravel roads...drift friendly...

This area around blowdown ridge will be throughly explored in the coming months before the snows hit..! If it does the foz will get me there...

A minor bummer in my trek..whilst turning about in a clearcut full of tree limbs. A large 6 footer stuck itself under the front and logded itself into my foz's left front outer cv boot...tearing it up..
No worries..I have a spare cv. I took a break and had brew enjoying the mtn. views..
My foz keeps invading my shots..lol I'm waiting for the good sunset shots..!

I will update this TR as I explore more.

I'll start with a trek over lolo pass..hidden spots with no powerlines in the photo ops..

At Whatum lake trail head we treked 4 1/2 miles to Rainy lake(in sandals). It was an old roadbed..with great views..

We feasted on some early mtn huckelberries, salmon berries next to a spring coming out of a base of tree....
Some of the best water ya ever tasted..
Finally made our way to the lake and cooled our heels.
We filled our safari hats dumping cool water atop our swelting heads..

finally made the trek back to Whatum lake at sunset...(9miles round trip)
Not much of a view from the road bed..the lake is abut five times the size you see in the pic..
