Hi guys,

Any advice on installing a 2inch block and 30mm kings hd springs in a my03 forester.
What to look out for ?
Do I need a spring clamp to swap the springs ?
Will I need to disconnect the sway bars completely?
Any tips guys would be very much appreciated!

Where's would I start what would I do first?
Sorry guys for being a pain in the arse!
You can pm too.
Pics would help also.
Thank you.

You will need spring compressors to fit the springs, these suckers are dangerous so be careful, think each action through carefully and methodically. If you wave any doubts about how they are sitting, stop and regroup.

I think you will have to disconnect the swaybars from both sides, do this on level ground as the first and last step.

Have a bench available to work on the struts, your back will thank you at the end of the job.

Don't forget to take some pics along the way for us.

What stilson said.

Get some camber bolts, you dont want to do wheel alignment twice.

Before undo the struts, loosen all the bolts for the bushes. When you finish, tight them up on the ground not on the jack stands.

Mark the strut top and the spring seat, make sure they go back in aligned otherwise you would have had time to line them up.

And get a mate if you could.

Cheers.

As stilson said, get some spring compressors.
A set of camber bolts would also be advisable, especially since it's 2" blocks you're installing :iconwink:

You may need a rubber mallet to, just in case, for the spare tyre well. It may need a couple of taps.
From my understanding, it's a very tight fit.

Also allow plenty of time for the job, the last thing you want to do is to rush it.

unbolt the rear trailing arm before undoing the caliper. makes getting everything off alot easier as theres less tention on the bolts on the strut. a small jack under the strut and a little bit of pressure make putting everything back in easier
