Well gotta drive him 1000km! Can't take the foz as it has a stuffed wheel bearing. Can't rake davidovs Outback as it has a broken strut (again). So have to take the L. Replaced its front wheel bearing last night the two of us did. Took about 8 hours in the complete Fark and had never done a wheel bearing before. Finished it at 12.30am. Then off we left at sunrise. Gone 100km without an issue so far :)

Good thing the wheel bearing wad changed as it was full of sand and dirt. It felt as if it was about to seize!

Will keep you guys updated how we go and if it breaks down.

Made the 1000km in my $300 L-Series. Yeah boi!!!!!
The carby started dying and surging the ladt 100km which caused us to have to do 60-90km/hr the rest of the way!

Was an awesome trip. Got to drive a mates commodore s ute, v6 manual. Wow is all I can say. It bloody flies!! Compared to only 4 cylinders I have ever driven. Almost as quick as Mr Turbos XT!

Hey Taza,

That's great news mate! By the sounds of it, fun was had all round. Glad to hear you did the whole trip in the 'L' without any MAJOR hassles

Cheers

Gidday Taza

Glad you made it back safely; in spite of:

Got a few pics to post up and a awesome vid of us overtaking 2 road trains and a caravan up a hill!

When I was a little younger than you are now, I did the same thing in my Mini ...

Fortunately the Mercedes that came over the crest of the hill at around 80 mph managed to avoid me by going into the dirt; instead of into me.

So that's the ONLY reason I am here today to tell you off for doing such a stupid bloody thing ... :iconwink:

Hold your horses mate!

It was an overtaking lane, not on the wrong side of the road. Believe me i have more than enough experience to know that's completely stupid. I wasn't driving either when photo/vid shooting if your wondering too!

Sorted out the surging thing it was doing too yesterday  ZTurned out to be the fuel filter was mega blocked up, it's now faster than my Forester! Has a torque pull on the highway in 5th of an EJ25 Foz or Outback :monkeydance:

I apologise; only one of us is that bloody stupid ....

Great that you found the blocked fuel filter mate.

As for the other, even with the lower weight, it is a bit harder than that to make up for the EA82 having less than half the torque of the EJ-25, with a fairly peaky torque curve to boot ... :iconwink:

Anyway, glad that it is running well.
I had the same problem with a WWII Jeep fuel filter - ended up with my eyes full of petrol; and the fear for a couple of minutes that I would be permanently blind; and yet another lesson in life and cars. But that's another story ... :iconwink:
