Subaru started after sitting in lake 3 months

LOL!

I don't think I will try this with Roo2 ... :iconwink:

Besides, frozen lakes are a bit thin on the ground in Oz, Literally, as well as figuratively ....

i wouldnt try it in my 23 yr old brumby!

Mate, I won't even go in our swimming pool if the water temperature is below 23°C! Tiny little pool with an enormous solar heater on it. On a hot day in summer, it can get to over 30°C in the pool; and over 60°C in the collector!

If I do, I get purple spots developing on my lily-white hands and feet (they aren't normally lily-white ... ). It then takes about 20 minutes under a warm shower for them to get warm again, and the right colour.

Neither my Cardiologist nor myself think that this is a good idea ...

haha, That's a good story. It sounds like a challenge for me :lildevil: Ratbag; I'll drive over and put both your Toyota Camry and a 'newer' (Your) Subaru to the test with this theory :iconwink:
It wasn't running though when it went in the water so it wouldn't of hydrolocked... I'm surprised the battery wasn't dead though :raspberry:

There is one during the winter in the Murray-Sunset NP - and it is pink. Lovely spot.

And no, I'm not about to try it in my cars

Is the pink indicative of salt? Although salt water would have a lower freezing point.
Certainly wouldn't want to put a car in a salt lake!

There is a 'pink lake' right near my home town. A salt mine is attached to the side of it, looks bloody beautiful when the sun is setting. Too bad I have to keep my eyes on the road and watch out for roo's when driving past on my way home...

You've got my problem, Taz

I have terrible trouble stopping once moving ...
I really need to stop to eat the roses more often :iconwink: :rotfl:.

Don't think I have been so happy and relaxed as when stopped at the Black Swamp between Hay and Deniliquin listening to the air talking to itself last December ...

There is a pink lake i went to in WA, but it was not near Perth- closer to Albany I think

G'day Rally

Sounds interesting :).

Any more details?

I want to go up that way, and Mungo NP. Possibly meet up with a mate from SA in that neck of the woods.

I'm not currently in Perth. I'm home 650km north. In the opposite direction of Albany, I haven't yet been down that way myself.

RB, feel free to drive over here. I'd be happy to show you the sites :D

Yes- good Mallee country. Head north from Horsham till you get to Walpeup, then head west for 80km to you get to the turnoff near or at Boinka. Turn right and head due north from there. When you arrive, drive around till you find the lake. It has been many years since I have been there- at least 15 so who knows what they have done to ruin it. The sunsets are stunningly spectacular as the pink glow of the sun joins the pink lake- one of the most beautiful sights to be seen. When I was there it got down to -7 C, so take your wardrobe with you.

Actually it would have to be Esperence- I just remembered I have not been to Albany! I am forgetting after so many years what was where. Nowhere as good as the one in Victoria though. There is also supposed to be one in SA but it was not very pink when we were there

Thanks Taza

That's a very kind offer. One I would enjoy taking you up on .

You never know, I might just get up the energy to do the trip.

Last time I was in Perth (only around CBD/suburbs) was in 1971!

Yeah you could be one of few to come over as your semi-retired :)

Well if your health can allow you and your ever keen I'd be happy to meet up and show you around some of the WA coast.

Wow, that was awhile ago you were over here. God, I wasn't even born then

I look forward to coming over east in Jan next year. Not sure if I will make it all the way to Sydney or Melbourne but the Aus Subaru meet up in Coffin's Bay will definitely be awesome. People and their subies from all over Aus!
