Winch on Forester XT MY04

Unfortunately i don´t have pictures of the mounting process since i didn´t mount it.

This is the kit that was used as a base:

I have the pdf with detailes of installation, but it won´t fit as it is on the 2003+ models.

The kit was modified using the plates seen in this pdf (left and right mounting point where the bumperbeam is mounted). Its also connectes to every possible part of the frame.

Thats the only mounting point i can take a picture of without removing the bumper... maybe i take more when i will fab my own offroadbumper :)
 
Looks very good. I'd still be carefull putting too much load on it but it looks good enough to get you out of most situations... :monkeydance:


What winch did you go for? Steel cable or synthetic?
 
Hmmm I remember a thread asking if a winch could be mounted on a forrie recently, I hope the nay sayers didn't talk him out of something that obviously can be done.

Very clean looking install Yalla, can't wait to see a vid of it in action.
 
i will take pics and maybe a vid when i have to use it the first time:)

the shop tested it on a hill by pulling the car itself up and afterwards by pulling another car with 2 tons up the same hill.

no stuck situations were tested but i guess it should work as well as the test scenario ;)
