aka repping ORS at one of those other Subaru forum website meet-ups.
This past Saturday, after a week of scrubbing dirt out of all of the Foz's crevasses and making everything all shiny and whatnot I headed 3.5 hours up north for the 2nd annual subaruforester.org Deal's Gap Meet. Deal's Gap is an 11 mile stretch of road that happens to have 318 curves, AWD heaven even with A/T tires and a lift...

sup guys, I heard ya'll like Subaru Foresters

I did 3 runs with the group, had a blast erasing any "real 4x4" envy I might have been harboring. There are photogs everywhere on the road that sell digital DL's, I'll post some action shots once I buy a few.

After the last run I pealed off to meet up with some friends camping in North Georgia. Had the bright idea before hand to "overland" in down to the campsite. Got some advise on a route shared to me via Google Maps, bad bad idea. Worse was I couldn't get a data connection on my Android to verify where I was (had a really nice GPS grid map of Georgia that was useless in SW North Carolina) and took the wrong dirt road south for over an hour until it degraded into a jeep trail that degraded into beyond hardcore. Back tracked to pavement, blah blah blah, finally rolled into camp a 10pm. My buddies were thrilled that I hadn't been molested by a bear and even saved me a few beers...

will continue the report with more pics and a video or two, Mrs EJ is keen for me to come to dinner right now

Looks like you had a good roll up E.J :raz:

Will be great to see some pics &/or vids once you get them too

Awesome!!! Glad you posted something up here.

Did you by any chance meet Doug? Black '04 XT "Deathsled". In other circles, he drives a Blue FJ cruiser you may have seen in some of my trip reports.

Yup, met Doug with the "Deathslead". We've been pm back and forth about the "wrong" road I took. It's called Little Buffalo Rd, it looks like it might be a back way into the closed Telico OHV area.

Looks like a good turnout. That Blue Foz looks nice but I dont reckon it would go too well offroad. I reckon even a decent speed hump would have it in trouble:rotfl:

Cool glad you met him. We know him from waaayyy back when I was hosting forester.org meets. Our families have become great friends.

I'll have to look at a map of that area, I've been to Tellico a few times, before it closed :sadbanana:, I've been curious if the main road through the center of the park is closed too.

On the way home the next morning, good thing none of the other cars from the meet tried to follow me:lildevil:

Now thats what I'm talkin' about!!!:cool:

Nope don't think most of those other cars would have had a chance.:raspberry: Just got done reading through the thread on forester.org, looks like it was a great time. I may do a ride along with Doug one of these years.

Great vid E.J  I really enjoyed that :)

And yes, I'm sure, if some of the others at the meet had followed you back that way, it would have been interesting, quite interesting to say the least :poke:
