Thats one way to test the new snorkel out
Well done mate :)

Love it, Monster! What's the story behind your snorkel? I don't remember reading about your solution/install.

On a somewhat related note, I just picked up a new (to me) MY06 LLBean, after being without a Subaru for the past three years of living overseas. I need to get a sump guard, lift, and more aggressive tires first. But at some point after that, I would like to look into a snorkel.

Got a Pajero snorkel off ebay for about $150 shipped. Had to heat it up and bend it a bit, but it turned out better then I thought it would :discomonkey:

I have a sump guard, lift blocks, king springs and new struts on the way :-)
I love my MY06, its not an LLBean, I would feel bad beating one of those up... they are soo niceeeee

Thats sick, I wish we had more trails like that in Upstate New York

This was right after I got mine, Decided to mess around in some undiscovered trails!

But I think I should invest in a snorkel!! & How did you heat it up?

You don't want to hit water at speeds like that, it will either cause you to loose control and have an accident, set off your air bags or hydrolock your engine without a snorkel.

Yes you need momentum and a bow wave but not hit it at 50mph. Great vid though, suprised all the people by the sounds of it.

Congrats on the new machine, mate ... :) .

What's the difference between the MY06 "LLBean" model you blokes get in the States and the MY06 "XS with luxury pack" we get here? Mine is the latter.

FYI, the "XS with luxury pack" comes with almost everything except a turbo; e.g.
  • 2.5L NA donk
  • 4x airbags
  • Leather seats
  • Sun roof/s
  • Full harness rear belts with pyrotechnic pre-tensioners; and full baby capsule mounting points
  • Climate control air-con
  • Alloys
  • Frog lights
  • Six stacker CD with 7 speaker stereo
  • ABS/EBD
  • Self-levelling rear suspension
  • More mud flaps
  • Side skirts
  • Matching paint bumpers
  • More internal 'pockets' than the base model
  • A number of minor niceties that seem to be missing from the base model (and models after mid-2008 as well ... :( )
Plus a swag of options that one could elect to either have or not have, depending on personal preferences - e.g. mine has an OEM tow bar, but does not have leather or sun roof/s. It does have the dual range 5 speed manual box with LSD at the rear.

In fact, it was very bloody hard for me to determine exactly what I should be insured for, and eventually cut a deal with my insurer based on the price of the base model, then adding on all the extras at OEM prices ... :).

Ditto :iconwink:

But I must admit, it is a great vid though Grunger27 :)

Both great vids! :monkeydance:

I prefer the controlled approach though, don't like the idea of forcing water sprayed at high pressure through my electronics lol. Makes for some fun vids haha :iconwink:
